Sister Pearson a Green Beret

Where to even begin.. WHAT A WEEK!!! So first things first.

We taught Lidia, our investigator, she is really progressing! We have taught her the restoration and what makes our church different and she loves the Book of Mormon and I know she knows its true so we will keep teaching and praying, I know she'll be baptized!!

This week was a tiny bit of a gong show..First of all Tuesday was devotional!! Since it was the special devotional we asked our teacher to let us go early so we would make it in there! We left and got to choir a half hour early and.. all the seats were full. I was so sad. Then we decided to wait in line for the devotional so we would at least get to be in the room. We waited.. for TWO HOURS! and then they announced that they were going to be filming us walking in and not to look at the cameras and were like woah! Cameras! What’s going on! So we go in there like a stampede trying to get seats all the while looking graceful and we did it!! We got seats ON THE FLOOR!! So we were just beaming so excited then all of a sudden on the screen was the name of one of the Seventy I was so confused.. the choir director specifically said it was a VERY SPECIAL DAY and that the prophet wasn’t coming but it was reeeeaaallly special! Guess what.. they were not lying. it was one of the Seventy who spoke and it was a really great talk but we were so disappointed! Guess what the special thing was.. THEY FILMED THE CHOIR TO SING IN BETWEEN GENERAL CONFERENCE!!!! CURSES!!!! we didn’t even make it into the choir!!!! I was a little upset I’m not going to lie. After all that effort but it was still awesome of course AND this Sunday is Easter, they have told us one of the Twelve Apostles is coming. My companion and I get to be USHERS so we are guaranteed a spot! Hopefully it will work out not like last time.

I had a little bit of bronchitius goin on in my lungs so the doctor gave me medicine and a humidifier and its WORKING!!! I am almost 100 percent better!  It was really cool on Tuesday, all the Elders in my district gave me a blessing! well they all participated in it and it made me feel so good and so comforted and helped a whole lot! I am so glad they are all worthy preisthood holders and for the amazing blessing  :) it was great.

Polish has been about the same, I'm learning!!!  I still wish I knew more! The other half of my zone left today for Poland and this Wednesday the new ones are coming! so WE will be the old ones!! Time is seriously flying!!  Its super cool. I have been asked to be the "online trainer" for the new districts.. its a pretty big deal. Its the Branch Presidency, Me, then the zone leaders and everyone else so im pretty honoured  I literally just show them how to use the computers.. but im so excited!!! any chance to serve is great. I cant wait to get to know them all! It will be cool.

We had TRC again on thursday which was awesome! I really want to do this when I come home they are all just proof that I WILL LEARN POLISH! I had lots of fun. Yesterday we watched the music and the spoken word. The Mormon Tabernacle sang the primary song my Heavenly Father loves me and that was Caitlynn's favorite song!!!! it made me think of her and when we were in primary it was so cute!

My German teacher told us that Two Apostles have said that the missionaries who get called to Poland are the "Green Berets of Missionaries" which I didn't know what that meant but it is the highest, coolest special forces in the US Army! I was so excited to hear that and I feel special, learning the Polish language is hard. It was encouraging to hear!!

We discovered we can go onto mormon.org and we watched the Brandon Flowers video called I'm a mormon video, (the lead singer of the killers) I almost cried!!! not only because the video was so amazing but THERE WAS REAL MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND!!! So we just listen to it on repeat and then put the motab on I just love music so much!!

Oh also everyone knows your name Mom cause its Echo and I was telling a funny story the other day to my district and Elder Allen was laughing and then he said, Oh Echo, and I almost died I was laughing so hard! We are best friends with the Bulgarians now. Life is just grand! I love hearing from all of you so please dear elder me! and thanks to everyone whose written I promise to write back! I love you all so much! HUGS to all my Family and Friends!

Peace and Blessings

Sister Pearson's Eyes are Smilin

Monday March 18th

I got your package! Thank you! Getting mail and packages is the best thing in the world here! The workout clothes are great and Travis brought me my shoes!!!! I love them so much!
I am sick... like a cold but I have no voice and my throat kills and I cough all the time kind of sucks but that’s okay! I’m sure ill get better soon I bought some more medicine from the store and I hope that helps me!

SO! This was a fantastic week! It flew by so fast its unreal how time goes here.

On Tuesday we taught our new investigator Lidia (who is our teacher Sister Macadam’s) and it went so well!! Our first lesson we were getting stressed out preparing for but we went in there and the spirit was great and strong and I loved it! Then we had our devotional, not the special one that’s tomorrow!!!!, but it was really good all the devotionals here are amazing and its like they are tailored right to me! Its so fub!
On Wednesday we did some service which I love! We get to go to a chapel and clean! Although we have to wake up 40 minutes earlier than usual to go do it, it is so worth it because we are blessed and happy to be serving! Its so fun half of my zone goes and just cleans the church. Other than that it was a pretty normal day with classes and learning the language.

This week most of our classes were actually in English and they expressed to us how we shouldn’t be worried about the language, when its language class you study the language when its not worry about the spiritual side of things.

So on Thursday we taught Lidia again and this time we prepared a lot and then went in with our note cards and I only looked at them once!!!! Even though the grammar was waaaaaay off! We taught her the Plan of Salvation. I would say it in polish, which translates to God wants you happy. Family can eternity and stuff like that but the spirit was so strong!! Words I learned weeks ago would just come to my remembrance and the gift of tongues is the coolest thing I have ever experienced!! We have asked her to be baptized twice but both times declined so far but its so cool how much I want her to say yes. I’m not afraid to ask her because being a representative of Jesus I need to do what He would do and that’s what He would do! She’s great and I know she will say yes to being baptized one day :) even though she’s my teacher when I teach her she’s Lidia from Poland and even when I pray for her its like she’s real and I love her!

Also on Thursday we had our first TRC, Its when return missionaries who served their mission in Poland come to the MTC and we teach them in Polish it was so fun! They were so nice to us. I can’t wait to learn more!

The rest of the week was excellent. Just classes and normal fun here. The weather has been beautiful!!!! I am so blessed here! I absolutely love it here way more then I thought I would! On Wednesday I will have been here for 3 weeks!!!! The time is flying by! I just love serving the Lord and I know that I am doing exactly what I am suppose to be doing. It makes me so happy!!! This week’s devotional is someone super important!!! So I’m on the choir hoping my cold goes away before then so I can actually sing... I am very excited about it!!!
I miss all of you every day! It makes it easier knowing why I am here and loving what I’m here to do! I pray for you multiple times a day and I know the Lord is looking out for you! If anyone dear elders me I will write them back I promise! It takes a while to get there but I write every p day! Thank you for all the dear elders from everyone its one of the best parts of my day. I feel so loved!
I love you all! The work must go on! Till next week!

Stay fresh,

Love your missionary,

March 11th - Still Loving the MTC experience

March 11, 2013
This week was fantastic! So busy but the week flew buy so fast!

First of all, we talked with our investigator "Arek" 4 times all fully in Polish and it is so amazing to see how the Lord works here. The spirit is so strong and we have definitely seen the spirit working through us in our lessons it was so amazing!!
Sister Lidtka and I were planning our last lesson for him and we were getting tired and kind of stressed cause we know what we want to say to him in English but then we have to translate it all and it’s so hard! Oh also Arek has been blessed with attractiveness and we definitely noticed that from the beginning so we like to joke and talk about it sometimes. So I was flipping through this Polish workbook thing we use to find sentences we would use in our lesson and there was a page for like contacting or setting up another lesson and so I giggled and I said to her, "we should just say this instead of our lesson and I said it to her in Polish" and then showed her what it meant and it was.. Let’s exchange numbers. She burst out laughing and we laughed forever!! She then said and he'll reply with this. Said it in Polish and it was. Let’s write!
It totally made my day because I love her so much and we have the same humor and can take a step back and just have fun and then we rock our lessons because the spirit is there! It’s just so fun! We then found out that Arek our teacher is from Germany! He’s also married... which made all the previous things we said about him awkward.. But it also made him completely not attractive to us so that’ll be less of a distraction so it’s good! Our other teacher Brad Tribe is the most amazing person ever! He’s so hilarious and he’s like our friend but still out teacher!
I miss you all so much! But I love every minute here at the MTC.I can’t go to the Salt Lake Temple because there are too many Canadians here... UNFAIR! I am still foreign so this really saddened my soul oh well the church is still true.
The food is good and my district is seriously sent straight from heaven. Each and everyone one of them is amazing and I love them all so much.
Thank you so much for the package!! Those Pres Monson quotes are the BEST everyone is super jealous that my mom is awesome and they also really liked the donuts :)

Our Temple walks on Sunday is one of the best things about my week. We get to go as a district and even though it’s crazy crowded we get to just go for a nice walk and relax and have fun! It is so nice! Also, I joined choir ! And next Tuesdays is apparently a very special day!!!! Which means someone super important is coming for our devotional!!!!!!!! I am so excited!!! Also we haven’t ruled out the conference thing! There is hope in singing at Conference.

Polish is coming along great. At times I get discouraged because I want to just say everything but then I realize the amount I have learned in a week and a half since being here and I see that I’ve already been blessed with the gift of tongues!! It is so amazing and I love the language and I love the polish people even though I’m not there yet!
Every day here is such a blessing and I am so happy to be here! I know that the Lord has prepared me to be here right now and there’s nothing better than that feeling! Still pray for me to learn the language but by the time I am done here I feel like I may have progressed quite a ways! Well let’s hope! Oh and dear elder is the best! It’s so nice to hear from you and everyone else on a daily basis it’s sad I can only reply once a week but it’s all good!

Something amazing I have learned since being here is they ALWAYS talk about obedience with exactness and I’m like ya ya they always say that but THEN I have seen what it does in my own life and it’s so cool! So the saying is obedience brings blessings, but obedience with exactness brings miracles! BOOOOM it’s so cool!! Since I am learning to speak Polish I need miracles!

So that’s all for now! I love you and thank you for everything! Say hi to everyone and give them all a big hug for me! Oh and I got Granny’s dear elders tell her ill write her? Or email? Give me her email in case and that’s a super good m day gift and I’m so thrilled she’s going to Palm Springs! Hopefully I’ll talk to amber soon! I miss you all but there is no greater work than this :)
thank you!!!! LOVE YOU

First Email from Sister Pearson- The MTC Experience

Sharing my first email from Sister Hailey Pearson!!

So I LOVE the mtc!! Seriously I got here and I haven’t stopped smiling since. Remember how we weren’t sure how many people would be going to my mission with me? Well MY WHOLE DISTRICT IS GOING TO POLAND!! There are 6 elders and 6 sisters and they are all so amazing and so uplifting! All 6 of us girls are in the same room I am starting to get use to it even though it’s so crowded but I love them all. My companion is AMAZING! Her name is siostra lidtka and she is from Washington and she looks like a tan version of Rachel mcadams the girl from the vow and the notebook. We get a long great and she is so kind. The lord has truly blessed me with my district. I feel so much love through him just by the people he gave me. So polish is really hard like really hard but it’s so good at the same time!! The first day I got here we went to these rooms where they had missionaries teaching an "investigator" and then they would leave and we would all teach them it was so fun!! And then I had to start polish.

I actually love it so much though and you would be so amazed of what I already know!! I can bear my testimony say a prayer and introduce my self as a missionary of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints! I would you could hear me say it its so cool! So on Friday my companion and me taught our first investigator named Arek. IN POLISH it was a gong show since we spoke like nothing and we would ask him a question like if he knew god and he would respond but we would have no idea what he said! So I pretty much laughed the entire time. I felt bad after but there’s not much we could do. Its really interesting because one of our teachers oh and by the way I heard my teacher speak English for the first time on Saturday. All of our lessons have been completely in polish and it’s like a giant game of charades the whole time. Its so fun but I just want to know it all right now!! But the lord is blessing me with the gift of tongues as we speak I already know so much for only having lessons for like 4 days anyways my teacher told us that they’re trying to overwhelm us cause its so much everyday! So much polish and so much learning! But she said that was there intentions because it’s the only way we will rely completely on the lord well learn to. Which makes total sense!! And that is exactly what I'm trying to do! I don’t think I’ve even prayed so much in my life! But the spirit is so strong here it’s impossible not to love every minute. And zero time is ever wasted here because I am on the Lord's errand and I need to make every minute of it count. Although p day is awesome!!! It’s so nice to have a little break-even this is all so busy to!! We went to the temple this morning and iom vbeing timed right now for emailing its os stressful!!! I feel like imp going to pop a vain! Missionary work is the best thing I have ever done in my life it brings me such joy! I miss you all so much but I'm so busy that I barely have time to miss you!!! You should be proud I haven’t cried once the entire time of being here. But everyone should dear elder me cause I get them that very day you send them and then I can just email you back and write you back! It’s so organized here!
I love you all so much and I miss you like crazy but I am having the best time of my life here!! Wish I had more time but I don’t! So write dear elder and me me al ill email again next Monday!!! wiem ze ksiega mormona za prawgwa to swientvo mi pomaga miech najaya (the spelling is way of but i didnt even look at it thats just from memory!!)
